A passionate contemporary gospel performer with a classic soul undercurrent, Keyla Richardson is known for her dynamic praise & worship music. She initially gained widespread attention competing on season nine of BET's Sunday Best show. In 2019, she hit the gospel charts with her single "So Good," then continued her recording career in 2024 with "Home."
Born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, Richardson grew up singing in a church where her parents were pastors. By her teens, she was performing locally, along with leading worship services. In 2015, a video of Richardson and her friends singing the Walls Group's "Hold On" went viral and helped build interest in the singer. Buoyed by the attention, she released the single "Believe" on Doug Williams' Blackberry Records in 2018. The following year, she gained even wider visibility as a contestant on season nine of BET's gospel talent competition Sunday Best, where she finished in the final four. After leaving the show, Richardson released the single "So Good." Following the single "Corona Can't Hold Me Down," Richardson released the So Good album in September 2020.
After a four-year hiatus, Richardson returned in April 2024 with the single "Home." ~ Matt Collar
