ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves stay in-house as they promote Walt Weiss to be the team’s next manager.
Weiss is just the Braves fourth manager since 1990 and the 49th in franchise history.
He’s been promoted from his position as bench coach after Brian Snitker’s retirement at the end of the season.
Weiss has been with the Braves organization for 11 seasons as a player and coach.
He joined Snitker’s staff in 2018 and played for the Braves between 1998 and 2000.
Weiss managed the Colorado Rockies from 2013-2016 where he had a losing record.
Weiss is 61 years old.
